Live-the Last Concert

Selena still lives on in our hearts...
I enjoyed this concert so much !!! Selena was amazing. I even loved the short "extras" included in the DVD about the "Selena" movie. My favorite and most fascinating bit there was the side-by-side comparison of Selena's moves and Jennifer Lopez's moves. It made me appreciate the hard work that was put into the movie to make it as authentic for the fans as possible and to keep the integrity of Selena's performances intact.

As far as this concert. Wow!!! She really made that stage her own and had a great interaction with the fans that night. She had great confidence and a love for her fans. How do I pick a favorite moment? Her upbeat songs were so much fun that it was not hard to imagine everyone up and dancing to the concert. Those were such great songs too. They really knew how to pick out material that could show off the song, Selena's vocals and the band's talent (her sister,Suzette, was not a part of this concert, she was out sick that night).

Selena's Final Farewell
The Long, Long, LONG awaited release has finally come with Selena Live The Last Concert, the DVD that accompanies the album of the same name which was released in 2001.

After many delays, what was promised has finally arrived: The fulll 55-minute performance from February 26, 1995 - one month before her death - at the Houston Astrodome with 65,000 people in attendence.

Kicking off with the Disco Medley that was made famous in the 1997 film "Selena", and closing off with her signature song "Como La Flor", "Selena Live: The Last Concert" is sure to please any fan of hers - - as it is Selena at her best.

Also in the DVD is a 40 minute Behind The Scenes look at the making of the film "Selena". In which we will be able to see the finalists for the title role (including Jennifer Lopez), the final selection, and looks at the actual production of the film.

Finally, something that fans have been wanting...Selena doing what she did best...singing. No montages, tributes, or people...

I love Selena alot... But his DVD is dumb, Selena's performance is great and thats what makes this worth buying. But the way it was put together. First off, the original plan for this DVD was to include a behind the scenes "At the Astrodome", where Selena was interviewed befor the concert. But instead of Selena we get a cheesy behinde the scenes look at the making of "Selena: The Movie" I would have rather had Selena. Another thing, they added affects, During "Funky Town" Selena spins and her earring falls off, They split the screen into three and then it goes back to normal? During "Cobarde" after Selena introduces the song, she spins and again out of no where they make it slow-mo and then show her name "SELENA" on the screen? Why? Also, during the last song "Como La Flor" they changed the the intro and cut out some of Selena's good-bye. In the original performance they had messed up on the intro and they played it twice but...
